Batch Translation & Translate All

TeaNovel gives you two ways to translate more than one chapter at a time, both available on Starter and Pro plans:

• Translate All — queue an entire novel (or a range of chapters) from the book page in one click.
• Chapter-selection batch — hand-pick individual chapters from the chapter list.

TL;DR — Open a book → Translate All → choose all remaining chapters or a range → review the credit estimate → confirm. Progress continues in the background; pause and resume anytime.

Translate All

Translate All is the fastest way to work through a whole book:

1. Open a novel from your dashboard
2. Click Translate All on the book page
3. Choose what to translate — all remaining chapters, or a custom range
4. Review the credit estimate
5. Confirm to start

A progress card tracks the run: chapters become readable as each one completes, so you can start reading the opening chapters while the rest translate. Runs are durable — you can close the tab and come back, and progress resumes.

Pause, Continue, and Cancel

• Pause stops the run at any point; Continue resumes from the same chapter.
• If a run stops at a source blocker — a login wall, CAPTCHA, or paid chapter — resolve it on the source site, then continue from the block point.
• If your credit balance runs out, the run pauses with the reason shown; top up or wait for your monthly reset, then continue.
• Cancel stops the run permanently. Chapters that already completed stay translated and readable.

Retries and restarts never double-charge: you only pay for chapters that translate successfully.

Uploaded EPUB books

EPUB upload is Pro-only. Import the whole book first, then choose the next 50 untranslated chapters (the default), a custom range, or all untranslated chapters. Uploading and parsing do not spend translation credits.

Before you confirm, TeaNovel shows the selected chapter count, its credit cost, and your available balance. The confirmed budget limits that run's spending. Chapters are accepted in sequence; pausing stops further acceptance, while already accepted work may finish and be charged. You can keep an imported book even when you cannot afford to translate all of it yet. See Upload EPUB.

Chapter-selection batch

To translate specific chapters instead of a range:

1. Open the chapter list on a novel
2. Select the chapters you want
3. Review the estimated credit cost
4. Start the batch

Chapters that are already translated are skipped. Individual chapter failures don't stop the batch — after it finishes, you can retry what failed.

How batching works

Translation runs in durable server-side workers:

• The extension supplies source content for chapters that aren't cached yet
• The server translates each chapter and streams results into your library
• Progress, pause state, and history survive refreshes, browser restarts, and connection drops

You don't need to keep a specific tab open. Progress is visible in the book's progress card and your translation history.

Credit estimation

Before starting, you'll see an estimate based on the number and length of chapters. Actual credit use can vary since chapter lengths differ. You're only charged for successful translations, and credits for failed chapters are released.

Tips

Start small — Try a range of 5–10 chapters first to confirm quality on a new novel.

Check credits — Make sure your balance covers the estimate before starting a long run; insufficient credits pause the run rather than failing it.

Use Translate All for full books — It handles ordering, retries, and readable-as-completed progress for you.

Troubleshooting

Batch won't start

• Make sure you're on the Starter or Pro plan
• For URL-imported novels, check that the extension is installed and working
• Verify you have enough credits for the selected chapters

Run paused at a blocker

The run stops at login walls, CAPTCHAs, or paywalls. Resolve the blocker on the source site, then click Continue to resume from the same chapter.

Chapters failing

If a run pauses or finishes with retryable failures, use Continue to retry the remaining chapters. Completed chapters are kept.
